Engineer III Endurance 1917 Classic (40mm) – NM2182C-S4C-BK
As a tribute to Sir Ernest Shackleton and his Trans-Antarctic expedition, the Endurance, BALL Watch Company launched the limited edition Engineer III Endurance. This model has been developed to withstand the extreme conditions in which the Endurance crew lived through during their incredible journey. A Chronometer certified (COSC) timepiece, this watch has undergone intense testing for guaranteed precision. The movement uses cold temperature resistance oil to ensure ultimate timekeeping in sub-zero temperatures. Conventional oil is not sufficient, while a special oil blend guarantees reliable functionality in a temperature range from -40°C to 60°C (-40°F to 140°F).
On their expedition, Shackleton and his crew persevered through 17 hours of darkness every day. To overcome the black of night and all dark environments, the Endurance features 1mm high micro gas tubes. The self-powered H₃ micro gas tubes provide extreme readability and trusted reliability in all pursuits. Light energy is released when the H₃ molecules strike the internal colored surface of the tubes. This limited edition Chronometer of 1000 pieces is the ultimate explorers watch.
