Description

Miller joined the Moto3 World Championship in 2012 and raced for the Caretta Technology Forward Racing Team on a Honda chassis. Whilst the bike was not competitive it allowed Miller the opportunity to learn the circuits he would be racing in the coming years. He finished 23rd in the Moto3 Championship that year, with a best finish of 4th at the German Grand Prix, at the Sachsenring.

Miller moved to Racing Team Germany for the 2013 season, riding an FTR Honda chassis. Miller recorded 13 points-scoring finishes during the season, and finished in seventh place in the final championship standings. His best result was a fifth-place finish at both the San Marino and Australian Grand Prix.

Miller moved to a factory-backed KTM motorcycle for the 2014 season, joining the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad. During the season, Miller recorded his first fastest lap, pole position, podium finish and victory during the season; in total, he won six races during the season and finished the season as runner-up to Álex Márquez, missing out on the title by only two points.

After finishing the 2014 Moto3 season in 2nd place, Miller jumped directly to MotoGP as a HRC sponsored rider for the 2015 season. He raced in Lucio Chechinello’s CWM LCR Honda Team alongside Cal Crutchlow and finished the season in 19th position.

Miller moved to the Marc VDS Honda team for the 2016 & 2017 seasons and secured his first MotoGP Victory at the 2016 Assen TT. By taking this victory, Miller became the first satellite rider to win a race since Tony Elias did back at Estoril in 2006. His odds of winning this race were 750-1, this making it the biggest winning upset in MotoGP. The race was initially red-flagged due to torrential rain, when it was re-started, it left a 12 lap dash to the finish in what was still a wet track. Rossi crashed out while leading after the re-start on lap two. Miller surged to the front with a brilliant overtake on Marquez on lap 4. He held his cool for the final 8 laps and raced to victory by 1.991 seconds over Marquez.

In 2018, Miller joined the Pramac Ducati Team to race alongside Italian rider Danilo Petrucci. Miller has adapted well to the Ducati and has already finished on the Podium multiple times with the Italian manufacturer. In 2019 racing with the same Pramac Ducati Team alongside Pecco Bagnaia, it was announced that Miller would join the Factory Ducati Team for the 2020 season. The progression and talent that Jack has shown during his career has been very impressive and he is certainly a chance of becoming World Champion in the premier MotoGP class.
