First Hall of Fame partners confirmed
Motor Sport is pleased to confirm its first partners for the 2016 Hall of Fame event, which will see five greats join the illustrious list of members as voted for by you, the readers.
Luxury watch brand Christopher Ward is the official timing partner for the next two years, commanding a role no motor racing event can be without. Not one to dip into the partnership market often – most recently partnering with the 2012 Bluebird project – Christopher Ward is a partner Motor Sport is delighted to have on board. The exclusive watchmaker’s new C70 GP Chronometer series celebrates the inaugural winners of the French, Italian, Belgian and British Grands Prix, a collection that would have no doubt piqued the interest of Denis Jenkinson and Bill Boddy.
Underlining the long-term commitment to the Hall of Fame, H&H Classics are the auctioneer of choice for the next four years. H&H has made a habit of breaking records with its auctions in recent years, and is a company that can be relied on for a presence in our magazine pages. This month’s magazine is no exception, highlighting the Duke of Edinburgh’s special Lagonda that is to be sold at the upcoming Duxford auction.
The Sean Edwards Foundation will be the 2016 charity partner. It was set up in memory of the talented GT racer in 2013, and the SEF has been successfully campaigning for safety improvements ever since. World Endurance Champion Brendon Hartley, Susie Wolff and reigning Le Mans winner Earl Bamber are among the charity’s ambassadors, some of whom will be joining Motor Sport for a series of interviews in the lead-up to the event. The Penthouse-liveried Hesketh 308 raced by Sean’s father Guy during the 1976 season will also be among the display cars.
Straight Eight Logistics, transport partner for the Hall of Fame, has the all-important task of ensuring much of the spectacular car display arrives in one piece. The classic car transportation specialists will be delivering the Jaguar C-type, Ferrari 750 Monza, the Porsche 962 Derek Bell drove to second at Le Mans in 1988, Richard Burns’ Safari Rally winner and many others.
You can join the stars at the Hall of Fame event at the Royal Automobile Club, Woodcote Park, on May 31.
