Charles Deutsch, who divided his time between being chief engineer for the French Department of Bridges and Roads and being a partner in the Deusch-Bonnet racing car constructor, designed the Bugatti circuit in 1965. It incorporates the main straight from the Circuit des 24 Heures with a tight section behind the pits. The Bugatti circuit held the 1967 French Grand Prix, but since then it has not been regularly used for international events. One exception was the FIA F3000 race, which was held here from 1987-91. It is also home to France's MotoGP race at present.
