The EMKA-Aston in action

This month‘s featured track test is of the EMKA-Aston Martin that led the 1985 Le Mans 24 Hours. Driven by Nick Faure, Tiff Needell and Steve O’Rourke, it was the last Aston-powered car to hold that honour.

With so many spectacular Porsches, Jaguars, Sauber-Mercs and other marques involved in Group C racing in the ’80s, some of the more obscure cars can be overlooked. But even if they didn’t scale the heights of success in the same way their counterparts did, they’re equally as spectacular and are worth celebrating.
