Brian Lister, founder of Lister Cars, has died aged 88. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Lister’s company produced a series of sports cars that became ubiquitous on the grids of the 1950s. After Lister driver and close friend Archie Scott Brown was killed while fighting for the lead at Spa in 1958, Brian’s heart was no longer in motor racing and he withdrew from the sport. But the company was revived in the ’90s and the new Lister Storm went on to write a new chapter in the marque’s racing history.
