The DTM will return to Brands Hatch with a 2018 date, the circuit has confirmed
German touring cars will hit Brands Hatch in 2018 after a five-year absence on August 11-12.
The DTM has previously raced on Brands Hatch’s Indy circuit, but will this time compete on the full Grand Prix layout. BMW, Audi and Mercedes remain committed to the championship, although the 2018 season will be Mercedes’ last before it diverts its resources to Formula E.
“Five events in Germany, five abroad – DTM is becoming somewhat more international without neglecting its German roots,” said Gerhard Berger, CEO of DTM organiser ITR. “With England and Italy, two important markets are making their comeback on the DTM calendar.”
The season will begin and end at Hockenheim, with a round at Lausitz following the May 5 season-opener, while the Moscow round has been dropped for 2018.
