There is only one more 2022 Formula 1 car launch until testing starts in Barcelona on Wednesday: watch the Alpine A522 unveiled this evening live on this page from 5.30pm GMT.

New team principal Otmar Szafnauer should make his first appearance for Alpine after leaving Aston Martin earlier this year. He’ll be joined by drivers Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso, who returned to F1 in the expectation that this car, built to the new set of Formula 1 regulations, could get him back on the top step of the podium again.

There won’t be much point in Alpine disguising the element that it is going to run on Wednesday, so we are likely to see a good representation of the genuine car.

We’ll also see how well the livery designers have managed to blend the pink of new sponsor BWT with Alpine’s traditional blue hue.
