Following two consecutive victories on the gruelling Dakar Rally, Peugeot has launched its 2018 contender: the 3008DKR Maxi.
Although similar in appearance to the marque’s previous challenger, the bigger Maxi is the racing evolution of Peugeot’s 2017 ‘Car of the Year’, designed to deliver extra stability and performance over the rally raid’s dunes, mountains and arduous gravel roads.
Nine-time World Rally champion Sébastien Loeb will hand the car its debut on the Silk Way Rally from Moscow to Xi’an in China next month, which last year’s Dakar winner Stephane Peterhansel will also contest in last year’s specification car. Carlos Sainz will again join Peugeot’s Dakar line-up in 2018 where the marque will be aiming for a third straight victory.
