Once driven by Ari Vatanen and Richard Burns, an early Subaru World Rally Championship Legacy will go up for auction at Silverstone Auctions’ Race Retro, powered by Motor Sport, sale.
Vatanen drove the famous 555-liveried Subaru in the 1993 Acropolis Rally, crashing out of the lead, and it has been returned to that same original (straightened…) specification in recent years, with correct chassis plate and works engine, ‘box, suspension set-up and original parts.
On its nose is one of the famous K555 number plates, K555 BAT.
Richard Burns, England’s only WRC champion, drove it at the 1995 Bettega Memorial Rallysprint and his Collection later owned the car.
