To mark the opening of the new ‘Murray Walker’ television room at the Royal Automobile Club, Formula 1’s best-known commentator recalls the insightful, entertaining, and downright hilarious moments of his career, in a podcast in association with Motor Sport.

Listen to his memories of working with James Hunt – and the tussles they had for the microphone; why he never sat down during a race; and the reason he doesn’t think he would have survived as a commentator in the social media age.

The 95-year-old opened the Royal Automobile Club’s television room, which commemorates his 23 years of Formula 1 commentating, and contains memorabilia from his career.

In the podcast, Walker explains the choice of each object, which include an Indianapolis brick, given to him as a lifetime achievement award and a Mike Hailwood picture, representing Walker’s passion for motorcycling.
