Campaign hopes to raise £35,000 for racer’s young family

A JustGiving page has been set up to raise money for the family of William Dunlop, who died following a crash during practice at this month’s Skerries 100.

The popular road racer was 32 years old.

The crowdfunding page is targeting to raise £35,000 to help support his partner, Janine, who is pregnant with their second child, and their daughter Ella.

William was the son of five-time TT winner Robert Dunlop, elder brother to Michael and nephew of Joey.

His biggest win came in 2014, when he beat his brother to victory in the North West 200 Superbike race. That victory was his fourth at the North West 200, adding to his 125cc and 250cc wins in 2009 and later Supersport victory in 2012.

He claimed seven victories at the Ulster Grand Prix, among 108 Irish National Road Race wins.
