Classic Land Rovers, analogue amplifiers and Tibetan chants are among the inspirations featuring at this year’s exclusive WatchPro Salon, which opens today in London.

The show at The Londoner Hotel in Leicester Square offers the chance to view, try and buy some of the latest designs from 51 brands, including several which don’t currently have a presence in Britain.

It brings a UK premiere for Reservoir’s new Sonomaster Chronograph, which is inspired by the power measurement dials of analogue amplifiers.

Two hands, on the left and right of the display show the date and seconds, with traditional cream dials, marked in black and red.

The £5,600 model follows the Mini speedometer-inspired Longbridge watches.

Sherpa watch with inscribed cog

Sherpa Ultradive incorporates Buddhist mantras within its movement

There’s a debut appearance from Sherpa Watches, which engraves Tibetan Buddhist mantras within the movement to “send out vibes of love, wisdom and compassion from your wrist straight into the world, 30m times per year”.

A proportion of the £5,000 price goes towards charities that work with Sherpas in Nepal.

LA brand Artel Rotec will be bringing its limited edition V Series range that combines car and fashion influences. There will be a first opportunity to glimpse the sport version if Byrne’s GyroDial timepiece, featuring multiple faces that can change its appearance in an instant.

In addition to the watch stands will be a display of classic Land Rovers from Cotswolds-bases restorer Kingsley.

Kingsley Land Rover Defender A marine blue 1963 Series IIA 88 (right) will be parked at the entrance to the hotel, along with a 1995 sky blue Range Rover, both of which are available to buy.

Guests will also be able to stop off at the SevenFriday pop-up pub. Dan Niederer, CEO of the industrial-inspired watch brand, is billed as the landlord for the venue, which combines drinks and watches, promising a space for “people to feel energised by us and to interact”.

The WatchPro Salon takes place on 11-12 November at The Londoner Hotel, Leicester Square. General admission for Saturday starts at £20. Tickets for Friday’s VIP Preview and Opening Night are still available. Click below for more details.
