The F1 2020 video game will be released on July 10 later this year, and will allow players to add their own team to the Formula 1 grid for the first time.

Codemasters returns with its 12th instalment since taking over the F1 series licence, and will introduce a hugely sought-after feature, allowing you to add your own team to the game alongside several other new additions.

F1 2020 will also celebrate the career of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, with a special Schumacher Deluxe Edition coming with four of his most iconic F1 cars including the Jordan 191 and Benetton B-195.

In an all-new mode alongside the pre-existing career mode, players can add their own team to the 2020 F1 grid in the My Team mode, offering the player the chance to play the role of driver-manager and build their own team from scratch.

Choose your engine supplier, sponsors and hire a team-mate to partner alongside you in a new way of playing Formula 1. Build up your team from the bottom as you improve facilities and develop your car into a championship contender.

Players will also have more control over the career mode, with new options allowing you to choose from the full length 22-race season, or shorter 16 and 10-race variations that can be adjusted to include the individual’s choice of venue.

The brand new Hanoi and redesigned Zandvoort circuits will be playable; the Vietnam and Dutch Grands Prix are part of the original 2020 race calendar. Split-screen play will also make its return, absent from the F1 titles since the migration to the current generation of consoles with F1 2015.

“F1 2020 promises to be our biggest and most innovative title to date,” said Paul Jeal, F1 Franchise Director at Codemasters.

“Our core players will welcome even greater gameplay depth with the introduction of our brand-new My Team feature, alongside three customisable season lengths which allows them to pick their favourite tracks.

“In the year where Lewis Hamilton is going for his seventh World Championship, we celebrate the greatest F1 driver of all time with our Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition, which we know will prove popular with our community.”

F1 2020 will be available on all current generation platforms, including Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia.
