Porsche unveils its new 963 Le Mans challenger, as does everybody else...
The Hypercar train just keeps rolling on with Porsche being the first major brand to show off its new Le Mans challenger, swiftly followed by a host of others.
The new 963 LMDh (don’t ask us why it’s named to follow on from the 962 and not the far more recent 919 – we have no idea either…) made its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, resplendent in another red and white livery, making it near-indistinguishable from Toyota, Glickenhaus and likely Ferrari. Speaking of Ferrari, its new Hypercar broke cover at its Fiorano test track, wearing a camo livery and a conspicuously huge twin-plane rear wing.
And then out of left field comes Isotta Fraschini, with the reborn Milan company reportedly now having a completed design for a Hypercar of its own, plus Williams Advanced Engineering and ex-Ferrari builder Michelotto as partners.
