New date for La Sarthe test

The Le Mans Test Day is set to move back to two weeks before the race next year.

Bosses at the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, which runs the Le Mans 24 Hours, have said they are happy to bow to pressure from the teams to return to the format run from 2004-08. The Test Day was re-instigated with an April date for this season after an economics-induced two-year absence.

ACO boss Jean-Claude Plassart said: “Everyone is saying that they want the Test Day two weeks before the race and we are happy with that. It works for the teams logistically, and with the new World Endurance Championship it could be important to help us find room for all the races.”
