FORUM FOCUS

We should have seen it coming, even before we uploaded Nigel Roebuck’s British Grand Prix report onto the Motor Sport site, but the reaction to the Red Bull ‘wing-swap’ was unprecedented.

“It almost made sense to favour Vettel,” commented Mario Carneiro Neto. “But at least they could be obvious about it – I can’t imagine how pissed off Webber must be every time Horner or someone else tells the press they are treating both drivers equally.”

DS was of a similar mind when he said: “It really strikes me how honest Webber is – he is a hard racer, but plays by the decency of the sport. ”

It was only minutes after that was posted that Michael S wanted to highlight some of Webber’s antics on the track so far. “Webber is as nasty as it gets on track… pushing Alonso off in Suzuka ‘05, Rubens last year in Germany and Kimi in Brazil, the list goes on…

“He is also the first to be nasty about other drivers, criticising Kimi last year at Silverstone, and Kimi was not even near him! I’m not a fan of his behaviour at all…”

Our podcast with Christian Horner has retrospectively become even more popular as not only did we discuss his ideal driver line-up from the past (an extremely explosive combination of Mansell and Senna), but also Red Bull’s equal treatment of both its drivers. “I was only able to listen to the June podcast after the British GP,” said Tim from Chinchilla, “and Horner’s comments on favouritism make extremely interesting listening post ‘Wing-gate’!”
