Briton Anthony Davidson will remain with Peugeot for a second season in 2011. The former Grand Prix driver (left), who made a full-time switch to sports cars with the French marque this year, was told along with the other eight Peugeot drivers that they would be retained for next season. Davidson said he was delighted with the news “because I’ve learnt over the past couple of years that you cannot take anything for granted”.

Davidson has yet to sign a deal and the specifics of his programme have still to be worked out. It is likely he will contest more races than in 2010 because Peugeot has committed to racing its new 90X hybrid in the full Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.

Davidson has also been confirmed as one of Peugeot’s drivers (with Nicolas Minassian) in a solo 908 at the Silverstone 1000Kms in September, and in one of two 908s for Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta (with Marc Gené and Alex Wurz). It means he will have contested five races for Peugeot by the end of his maiden season with the French manufacturer.
