Jacques Villeneuve was the star of the show during the third Legends of Motorsport event at the Mont Tremblant circuit in Canada. Villeneuve was grand marshal at the event and also raced a McLaren F1 GTR to second place in the combined Can-Am/Group C/GTP race.

The third of the Bobby Rahal-promoted events drew modest grids, with fellow Canadian single-seater stars Alex Tagliani and Claude Bourbonnais joining Villeneuve in autograph and interview sessions. “I’m having a blast,” said the 1997 World Champion. “The atmosphere here is good. There’s no politics, so it’s good fun.”

Villeneuve raced the McLaren (above) in a slim seven-car field and was headed home by the Audi R8 of Travis Engen, with circuit owner Lawrence Stoll third in a Ferrari 333SP.

In the 11-strong Historic GP field Chris Bender was victorious in his RAM March 821, ahead of Bud Moeller (Ferrari 312T5) and James King (Lotus 77).
