New ambassador role for Brabham

David Brabham, the youngest son of three-times World Champion Jack, has been announced as a new Go Motorsport ambassador.

Go Motorsport, the first centrally co-ordinated marketing campaign to encourage people into motor sport, whether it be as a race driver or a marshal, said it was delighted to have Brabham “joining the distinguished list of official Go Motorsport ambassadors”.

Other ambassadors of the Motor Sports Association-initiated campaign include Martin Brundle, Jenson Button, David Coulthard, Damon Hill, Allan McNish, Jason Plato, Andy Priaulx, Murray Walker and Sir Frank Williams.

Brabham is the only man to have won in every category of the ALMS and was victorious in the GT1 class at this year’s Le Mans sharing an Aston Martin DBR9 with Darren Turner and Antonio García. The 42-year-old is also heading the MSA’s Race Elite programme which aims to find young hopefuls, but is keen to help people of all ages get into motor sport.

“Motor sport has so much to offer but it can be tricky for outsiders to get involved,” said Brabham. “Go Motorsport has been established to address these issues and the new GoMotorsport.net website is a great starting point for anyone wanting to get closer to the action.”
