"Rusty" Sytner wins twice
Frank Sytner scored a double victory in the historic sports car races that supported the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. From a capacity 44-strong grid of cars from the 1950s and 1960s, Sytner’s Lola T70 Mk3B proved fastest despite a stern challenge from the similar car of Nigel Hulme.
“I had to work quite hard for that,” admitted Sytner. “I’m a bit rusty, but I soon got back into the swing of it.” Fastest of the 1950s cars in both races was the Cooper Monaco driven by Graeme Dodd.
