Forty years of Formula Ford

The 40th anniversary of the first Formula Ford race was marked during the HSCC’s Historic Festival meeting at Brands Hatch in early July. It was on July 2, 1967 that the category ran its first race, and the first-ever winner Ray Allen was part of the celebration as he performed some demonstration laps in a Lotus 51, similar to the car he raced 40 years earlier. 

Also involved in both events was Grahame White, chief executive of the HSCC, who was clerk of the course for the 1967 event
