A vanwall in your wallet

Royal Mail is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Stirling Moss and Tony Brooks grand prix victory at Aintree with an issue of six motor racing stamps honouring British drivers. 

Two First Class designs feature Moss in his Vanwall and Graham Hill in a BRM P57, while others show Jim Clark (Lotus 25), Jackie Stewart (Tyrrell 006), James Hunt (McLaren M23) and Nigel Mansell (Williams FW11). Mark Blundell (above) hosted the launch

To get the striking overhead views, real cars were photographed from a special rig and the drivers then inserted digitally.
