I enjoyed the article on the Tui, but must inform you that Bert Hawthorne was born at Derryhennitt near Keady, County Armagh in Northen Ireland, and was therefore a compatriot ofJohn Watson.

He left there with his family for New Zealand when he was 13. In 1998, his sister Irene returned to the home farm and had a stone from the farm engraved ‘Bert Hawthorne, 14th April 1972. Age 28.
