The very impressive Jensen FF

I WAS SORRY TO READ IN AUTO CAR THAT Jensen has run out of money and closed down, if only temporarily. I drove most of their cars when the make, started by Richard and Allan Jensen in the 1930s, had become well-established.

By the 1960s, the West Bromwich firm had added the £7007 FF to its high-performance Interceptor range. With Ferguson 4WD and Dunlop Maxaret anti-lock brakes, I described it in 1968 as a car which was safe because it enabled one to avoid accidents, instead of merely being safe after one. And the 6267cc Chrysler V8 enabled it to do 130mph “on the M-ways of civilised countries”.

I was extremely impressed by this very sophisticated car.
