In reporting a recent rally that four Alvis Silver Eagles took to Norway’s North Cape (700 miles inside the Arctic circle), a local paper referred to one of Mac Hulbert’s cars as “an historic light armoured car.” But both his Eagles made it (as did the other two), the first bought when he was 17, for £30.

The fiat rgister is to hold an additional celebration of 100 years of the make at Brooklands on October 3. It will be part of the annual Concours d’Elegance. Those with suitable Italian cars should contact Dick Patten, Sounion, South Street, Barming, Maidstone, Kent ME16 9EY.

The STD Sunbeam Century Rally at Wolverhampton last July had an entry. of 65 Sunbeams from 1912-34, 30 Talbots from 1920-’37 and three Darracqs from 1924-27. A fine programme gave interesting details of the individual cars, plus a history of Sunbeam, a photographic gallery of these cars, the whole generously illustrated. Mr F C Harris of Replicast Replica Models of Southport has sent us pictures of the scale model Auto Unions they make very accurate, with especially good wire wheels. At the opposite end of the record car spectrum they do a model of the 1914 Homsted LSR Benz.
