Historic Ibiza

During a recent holiday on the lovely island of Ibiza my wife and I were introduced to a small bar and restaurant called The Black Cat.

Picture the scene, 9.30 in the evening, cloudless sky, nothing in the heavens but stars and a new moon, temperature a balmy 75F and the only sound a few crickets.

You walk through a passage into the restaurant, past the menu, turn right into the bar and wow! wall to wall motor racing photographs and old posters.

The photos are of pre-war Brooklands, Germany, Italy, Nuvolari, Lang and many more with post-war Hawthorn, Collins, Clark. Chapman, Hamilton and so on. There is a signed photo of Ron Flockhart driving an Ecurie Ecosse Jaguar in a lurid fourwheel drift and many many more.
