TT Anniversary

The 90th Anniversary of the first motor-car TT in the loM is to be recognised there on September 19, during the loM Rally week. The invited Clubs are the VCC, VSCC and the Preston & DCC. The Benjafield Bentley racing team has entered and it is hoped that Mercedes might send an SSK Mercedes-Benz, remembering how the Earl of March persuaded Stuttgart to enter some of its historic racing cars for the Goodwood Festival. During the week of the rally, race, hill-climb and speed-trial will be combined. The event will start from the IT pits and follow the actual 1905 course, we are told, for about 50 miles, with another circuit, at demo speeds, after a free lunch. There may just be time in which to enter: contact Roger Brown on 01254 240668 (evenings) or David Deane on 01624 623344. W B
