Norfolk Barnato Run

Over 80 Bentleys journeyed from Brooklands to Norfolk in early August to recall the achievements of Woolf Barnato, Bentley’s one-time flamboyant and successful driver and guardian angel. His daughter Diana was at Felbrigg Hall, near Cromer, to watch the cars join the North Norfolk Rally, involving some 800 cars of all ages and types which were arrayed in the park of the splendid house. Barnato Bentleys included a Speed Six, a 4-litre saloon, and the elegant streamlined dhc 4.25; Lotus brought a pair of F1 cars, a 79 and a 97 driven by Ayrton Senna, as well as a spread of road cars, and the TSB allowed “Old Number One”, now repainted green, out for a rare airing since its famous court case.
