3.1/2-Litre Ferrari Tested at Fiorano
Ferrari’s 31/2-litre Grand Prix challenger for 1989 had its first full test at Fiorano in August, driven by one of the company’s road-car development drivers, but only six laps were completed before the new electro-magnetically operated gearbox failed.
Dario Benuzzi’s best time was 1min 26.06 sec, slower than the V6 turbo. Roberto Moreno is to begin testing the V12 soon.
But while the press has had to rely on sneak pictures of the new car, Italian modelmaker Tameo has already produced a detailed kit which clearly shows the elegant curves of the John Barnard design.
