Safari Lunch

The 1953 Coronation Safari, and the two East African Safaris which followed, were supported by the then East African Standard newspaper, and last Easter Clive Pulman, managing director of the present Standard, hosted a lunch in Nairobi for competitors who had driven in that first Coronation Safari.

He plans to repeat this in 1989, on Friday March 17, and would like to hear from competitors, wherever they may be in the world, who took part in either the first or the second Safari. Presumably, he wouldn’t mind hearing from officials and anyone else who was closely associated with the rally in those formative years.
