Morgan Sports Car Club

In conjunction with the Austin Healey Owners Club, the MSCC is organising an Inter-Club sprint meeting at the Snetterton Circuit on Sunday, 1st November. The intention is to revive the traditional inter-club rivalry and teams will consist of four cars of the same make running tor the appropriate club. A handicap is applied to give all teams a chance. Last year the winning team was driving pre-1960 +4 Morgans, while fastest was the Sunbeam Tiger team. The event is open to most one-make clubs, the VSCC, HSCC and 750 MC. Each competitor will have three timed runs (daylight permitting), which will consist of a standing lap followed by a flying lap. Frazer Nash Section of the VSCC

The Chain Gang Gazette is always a good read for pre-war sports car enthusiasts, whether they be Frazer Nash fanatics or not. The latest issue is likely to cause quite a stir within the ranks of the parent Club, for a well reasoned letter from Gerald Brigham advocates acceptance of the post-war Frazer Nashes by the Section, even though the parent Club does not accept post-war sports cars of any kind. Some 66 of these cars still exist, from the original total production of 86 — a list of all cars built together with the names of their original owners is included — and many of these are owned by existing members of the ‘Nash Section, thus the character of the Section is unlikely to be affected by the acceptance of these cars. The big problem is for the parent Club, for if one of its sections accepts post-war sports cars, there will be a strong lobby for the acceptance of these cars en masse and, apart from treading on the toes of the HSCC, this would radically alter the make up of the VSCC. AC Owners’ Club

AC Action as a very slender publication compared with many club journals, but this is because it contains no advertising other than of a classified nature. The August issue contained a copy of the register of known surviving Greyhounds, 55 odd cars from the total production just over 80, an article on rebuilding an AC Saloon and various notes about AC’s in action.

XK Register

The XK Register of the Jaguar Drivers’ Club will be staging an International XK day on September 6th at Lilford Park, Northants. It is likely that more XKs will be assembled together on this day than at any time in the past. There will be spares stalls and a concours, as well as the opportunity to admire these very elegant cars from the fifties. Lilford Park is on the A605 Oundle and Thrapston.
