Recent Meccano Dinky releases have included a 1/32nd-scale Beach Buggy based on the Renegade design (No. 227), a miniature measuring 105 mm. long and costing £1.29, and a Leopard Recovery Tank, No. 699, priced at £1.99, this piece of artillery being to a scale of 1/50th, which makes it 143 mm. long. Dinky have also added a P47 Thunderbolt aircraft to their modern-aeroplane series, this one with a tiny electric motor driving the fourbladed propeller (No. 734), they have introduced a fearsome Tank Destroyer (No. 694) to their growing range of effective military models, and have a smaller model of a Swiss PTT ‘bus (No. 293) for the collectors of roadgoing vehicles. These splendid die-cast metal miniatures are the product of Meccano Ltd., Binns Road, Liverpool, L13 1DA, and conform to British Standards BS 3443.—W.B.
