V.S.C.C. Castle Combe meeting on Sept. 17th
Repeating the success of last year’s race meeting at Castle Combe circuit near Chippenham, Wiltshire, the Vintage S.C.C. will hold another at this venue, which is very suitable for vintage cars, on Sept. 17th. After the exceedingly exciting racing seen at the V.S.C.C. Silverstone meeting everyone who possibly can will surely want to be at Castle Combe. Admission is the normal 15/- per car, payable at the gate.
At the time of writing the entries include the Maserati 250Fs of Millar and Lucas, Arnold-Forster Delage II, Wilks’ Lotus, Roberts’ Alta, Lockhart’s Rover Special, the E.R.A.’s of Kergon and Gahagan and Kain’s very fast Type 35B Bugatti, all of which will contest an 8-lap Allcomers Race. The Light Car Handicap will feature Austin 7, Anzani A.C., G.N., Gwynrie 8, etc. The Motor Sport Brooklands Memorial Trophy Contest will be decided at this meeting and although Kain appears to have an unassailable lead, anything could happen, and the competition for second and third places in this contest with prize money totalling £125 should be keen indeed. Entries have closed but members can apply for 10/- admission passesby Sept. 10th, if an s.a.e. is sent to Tim Carson. Racing starts at 12.30 p.m.
