The Midland School of Flying has moved from its base at Derby Airport, Burnaston, Derby, to the new East Midlands Airport at Castle Donington, Leicestershire. The move from Burnaston, which is being closed, marks the completion of its use as a training aerodrome for more than 27 years. Opened in 1938 by Air Schools Ltd. for training pilots under contract for the Royal Air Force, the base has been managed throughout by the same organisation.
