Nerus economics
Sir,
After reading the article under the heading “On Test with a Nerus Modified Austin Mini,” I think it should be pointed out in fairness to everyone that “M. L. T.” has not got all his facts correct.
When I recently bought a Cooper, all the order forms, etc., quoted “de luxe,” therefore, instead of a standard Mini price being quoted £446 approximately, it would be better to make it £496 which is the de luxe price. If you add the price of the Nerus conversion on to that the total is rapidly approaching the Cooper price.
As for his comments regarding disc brakes, etc., I think that possibly a lot of people would argue on that point.
The subject matter was very interesting, especially to people with the ordinary Mini who wants better performance, but surely that is the only point made.
