Freiburg Hill-climb (August 11th)

Edgar Barth scored another victory in the European Mountain Championship on August 11th when he won the Freiburg hill-climb with his works flat-eight 2-litre Porsche.

Sixty thousand German spectators were present to watch a German victory in this event, the sixth in the year’s Championships. Second came Hans Herrmann, but in an Italian car, a 2-litre Abarth prototype, his time for the two runs, however, was very close to that of the 2-litre Porsche 13 min. 29.7 sec. against 13 min. 26.6 sec. Third and fourth were two more Porsches, driven by Walter and Müller, and fifth was also Porsche mounted Sepp Greger.
