Karlskoga, Sweden
Driving his first race since his accident in the Belgian GP, Stirling Moss won the 75-kilometre sports-car race at the Swedish Karlskoga meeting in the new 2-litre rear-engined Lotus Nineteen. Moss seemed fit as he ran to his car for the Le Mans type start but Joakim Bonnier, driving a Tipo 61 Maserati, was first away, and these two had a ding. dong battle until half-distance, when Moss began to draw away. He finally won by 6 sec, at an average speed of 67.87 mph. Third was David Piper (Lotus Fifteen) and fourth was Graham Whitehead (Lola).
