Bentley wins the second French 24-hour Race.

AFTER their victory in the Grand Prix d’Endurance at le Maus, Bentley succeeded in repeating the performance in the 24-hour race which was run at le Mans on 15th and 16th August. The victorious car, which was driven by F. Clement and George Duller, was the 44 litre car which ran at le Mans, It took the lead at the outset, and held it unchallenged till the end, finally winning by over 80 miles. Actually the competition was not very keen, as none of the other cars were in the over 2-litre class. The largest machines were two 2-litre Th. Schneiders, two Fastos and a Georges hat. There were two 1500 c.c. one Jean Graf, and the rest of the competitors were in the 1100 c.c. class and consisted of two Lombards, an Amilcar, a S.A.R.A., a B.N.C., an R.H. and a d’ Yrsan. At the end of the first lap the Bentley had a lead of half a mile from Rost on the Georges Irat, which was followed by Gres on a Fasto. After this the winner was never in doubt. On the second round a Lombard and the jean Graf fell out, and just before midnight on the Monday a fire put the Georges Irat out of the race. The B.N.C. now gained second place, which it held till the end. After 18 hours the Bentley caught fire, which delayed it considerably, and prevented it from covering a greater distance. The final result was as follows :

The performance of the 1100 c.c. B.N.C. and Lombard in beating all the larger machines except the Bentley is truly creditable.
