How sad that we will no longer be able to read new articles by Bill Boddy. He leaves us with a huge legacy of beautifully crafted work based on his encyclopaedic knowledge of most things automotive and many things aeronautical; writing that is still a joy to read many years after it first appeared in print. Until they were lost in a house move, two of my prized mementos were handwritten letters from ‘The Bod’ and DSJ, which were responses to letters from a teenage schoolboy expressing firm views on subjects upon which he was hardly qualified to comment.
