How disappointing that the BBC has yielded live coverage of 10 Grands Prix a year to BSkyB, part of the highly-respected Murdoch empire. So, a plea to the BBC: the ‘developers’ might be at the gates, but stand your ground! TV coverage of Formula 1 has never been better than under the BBC, and neither have the viewing figures.

And please retain the services of Martin Brundle and David Coulthard, who are turning into a well-timed and cohesive double act like Morecambe and Wise. They educate, inform and entertain. Thank you, gentlemen. David Goddard, Hove, Sussex
