Two Lotus 25s shared a grid for the first time in more than 45 years when the cars of Andy Middlehurst and Nick Fennell contested the HGPCA race at the Silverstone Classic (above).

Middlehurst raced chassis R4, now owned by Australian John Bowers, which was the car that Jim Clark used to win the 1963 World Championship. Fennell raced chassis R5 and both cars were tended by Classic Team Lotus, with 1960s Lotus engineer Bob Dance on hand to oversee them.

“I’m very privileged to drive the 25 and it’s a big responsibility,” said Middlehurst. “I have to pinch myself to believe I’m really driving it.”
