Iberian finale for Masters series
The masters racing season will conclude with an Iberian double-header in October, featuring back-to-back weekends at Portimao in Portugal and Monteblanco in Spain.
The second Historic Festival at the Algarve track (October 15-17) will be headlined by the FIA Historic Formula One Championship finale, while a full Masters programme will include races for U2TC touring cars, Formula Junior and a two-hour enduro for the Stirling Moss Trophy.
“We have 14 races for 12 categories and over 300 entries, which is 20 per cent more than last year,” said promoter Francisco Santos.
Also making the trip will be the 500cc Formula 3 cars, with a record 34-car grid for the first such race in Portugal. “This is the category’s furthest event ever,” said co-ordinator Nigel Ashman.
Six days later the Masters classes, including GP Masters, will race at the nearby Monteblanco circuit in Spain.
