Villoresi gets the works

I enjoyed your Hawthorn article but would point out that the Thinwall Special did not feature in Mike’s battle with Luigi Villoresi at Boreham in 1952: Villoresi was in a ‘works’ Ferrari 375.

The Thinwall did not race at Boreham; apparently, the event’s backers, the Daily Mail, were unwilling to underwrite Tony Vandervell’s 1,1000 starting money requirements.
