Information first

Sir,

I am writing to congratulate you on an excellent magazine. As an Aston Martin fan I read with great interest your article on the new DB7 Vantage. Having read alternative reviews in rival motor magazines, I found your article the only intelligent, informative article written. I find the `dumbing down’ bad language, blokish style of other magazines self-indulgent, self-congratulatory and patronising. Normally the first 50 per cent of an article is dedicated to the ‘lifestyle’ and ‘political’ veins of the journalist but your review got to the heart of the matter and gave more information and entertainment in a few paragraphs than the empty vacuous pages of the other magazines.

The excellent standards apply throughout the magazine and I’m relieved that you don’t revert to statements like: “seeking or aspiring to a conformational lifestyle choice? Or a car that gobs on others aspirations”. I am not in the habit of writing to offer my opinions but in this case I felt it well deserved. Keep up the good work. Well done!

I am, yours, etc. David Greech, London
