Please allow me to point out a minor glitch in your thoroughly admirable and absorbing piece (June 1994) on Mario Andretti. I think the Hudson Mr Andretti began his career with was not a Hornet (308 cu in six-cylinder), but the older Super Eight (254 cu in straight-eight — splash oiled!) which was offered from 1948 on the same “step-down” chassis that later — 1951 — received the Hornet engine.
