Yesterday's miniatures

Collectors of the old Matchbox “Models of Yesteryear” will be glad to learn that the series has been revived, covering a great variety of racing cars, sportscars, commercial vehicles, aeroplanes, garages and other offerings which are outside our scope. All are described and illustrated in a colour catalogue issued by Matchbox Toys Ltd, Burleigh House, 101/145 Great Cambridge Road, Enfield, Middlesex. Among the 3in-4½in miniatures are a hood-up E-type Jaguar, Foden steam waggon laden with Spillers flour, 1937 GMC van, Walker Electric, AG Renault, horizontal-boiler 1917 Yorkshire, vertical-boiler 1918 model-D Atkinson steam waggons, Preston trams, Bugattis, ERA “Remus”,MG-B GT, SS100, Porsche and Audi rally cars. The range is enormous, and worth investigating. WB
