Lotus-The Sports Racing Cars

In this detailed review which covers the 1950s up to the mid-1960s, Pritchard concentrates on the achievements of Team Lotus and the effect of that seemingly unending steam of race victories when Chapman was making his name as an innovator. But the many private entrants feature too, and the photo selection includes rare race coverage.

Separate chapters describe the most successful models, many contemporary magazine tests are included as an appendix, as is a brief outline of Coventry-Climax engines. Pritchard’s admiration for Chapman is plain, but the informative text is thorough and fair, and full of detail both on the racing and on the technical side, making this a welcome addition to the Lotus oevre.
