DOES THE PORSCHE OVERHEAT ?
* I * DOES THE PORSCHE OVERHEAT?
Sir,
I have been contemplating a Porsche for use in Germany but I am rather dubious after reading in a contemporary road-test report that one must ease up on super highways when traffic is light as under such conditions top speed is limited by rising oil temperature, which must not exceed about 120 deg. C.
I have always thought the Porsche to be high-geared so as to .obviate harming the engine by prolonged cruising at high speed, but *this reference to critical oil temperature raises doubts. As I may have plenty of opportunity of cruising along the Autobahnneu in the .early hours of the morning it will be tedious if I have to ease up after some miles. What do Porsche owners think ? I am, Yours, etc.,
