Pescara Grand Prix (August 19th) - 358.106 kms.

This year the annual race on the beautiful mountain circuit was limited to sports cars of I 1/2 and 2 litres and though Behra led for a time in a 200S works Maserati, he was delayed at the pits and let Taruffi take the lead in a similar car. Due to the intense heat Taruffi was not keeping an eye behind him and Manzon (Gordini 2,000 c.c.) swept up and passed him on the last corner of the 14 laps.
